Numbers are not important when the hearts beat in a common tune – and it’s merely common today that common people hate Indian politics! They express or they do not; they are unhappy with politics. Politics have successfully converted the most vibrant freedom fighters to speechless commons. We have been habituated in watching the never-ending political drama going on in numerous media channels and newspapers. Every night with our delicious dinner we enjoy the spicy Indian political mujra, and convince ourselves that we hate politics. We, the common people, have noting to do except hating the rubbish!

On the other end, our politicians - whatever they do in the dark we don’t know, but what they do in the daylight is simple, do politics of hate. There is no single reason to believe that this phrase is a newly discovered one, especially with regard to what is happening either with the workers in Mumbai or with those trying to take revenge in Pilibhit; incidents at these places are just the latest generation of the Great Indian Hate Politics adopted by our politicians today! Not a single political rally or political meeting ends up without uttering words of hate against some target opponent…Be it socialism versus capitalism, price hike, government decision, religious colour, leadership dilemma, dynasty politics, politics of appeasement, vote bank politics or even opposing anything for the sake of just opposing, Indian political mouthpieces know only words of hate. If some authoritative commission wants ending of the era of politics of hate, it’ll be definitely appreciated by the common….but not in a circumstance when the rules are not applied to everybody. For example, we see numerous criminals, murderers, rapists and dangerous anti-social elements contesting polls even from behind the jails, and our election commission could not yet put any law against them; we see subjects undergoing judicial trials for several heinous crimes holding ministerial posts, even sometimes very important positions in the government, but our democratic governments could not impose any rule against them…how can we expect that the politics of hate will not forcefully attract people who were even indifferent initially… may they be anyone Raj, Rani, Arun or Varun! What happens inside certain religious buildings just before elections, are not a secret to us….Cold-blooded hot speeches of hate are blown to motivate certain communities...no audio or video recordings of those hate speeches reach New Delhi, no commission takes charge to investigate those activities, and those speeches keep resonating in the minds of certain percentage of the population, making them the most vulnerable of the politics of hate.

Unless and until things change in a massive scale, one cannot stop politics of hate in even small scales. We need strong, neutral and motivated commissions in the country, even for conducting full and fare elections. The common people can only urge that the decisive body should act not under the pressure of any individual or political party, neither should they be biased to anybody…and if they are, then they should instead join the political party directly. For the common people in a democracy, the hidden bias of a decisive body could be more dangerous than its active involvements.

In this political turmoil, we, the common, are undergoing a serious test of reticence…the politics of hate are so strong that we are very likely to be carried away in any side…and then whether or not we hate politics in general, we start loving the politics of hate. We have to be very cautious about this phase shift…being reluctant to political storms might not help, and in fact be dangerous for the common. We should cast our power to eradicate the politics of hate gradually, by eliminating the criminals from the politics and by stopping the criminals to enter in the parliament…may be slowly but surely things would change…because we may not need a revolution, we just need an evolution.

Jai Hind to Jai Ho!

Had the brave soldiers not chanted Jai Hind for the freedom of the motherland sixty-two years ago, today the proud son of the nation might not even had a mother…! Time passed away, generations changed, and we have evolved as the present generation of the nation. With every passing year the country has changed slowly but surely towards a future unrealized in the past. The country has emerged as the largest democracy with second largest population of the world. Despite our growth, our achievements and our improvements the progress of the country is insignificant in many respects. Our concerns are best understood by ourselves - we the people of India. We have political parties and their leaders, who can lecture about our concerns throughout a day without being tired; but given the opportunities most of them fail to fulfil the promises. There is nothing new in it, we all know this; but still we keep following the same path. Every time elections come, we follow the same path. How long can this repetition last? And to how many generations? Can we not do something that makes a difference? Can we not do something just as common people? I am sure we have the potential to do that. But what is that? Sixty-two years ago the common people came together…chanted Jai Hind… a revolution came. Sixty-two years after, we can see people are coming together again…chanting Jai ho! The vibrations say something is going to change… this time not a revolution - we need an evolution! We are going have another opportunity to cast our enormous power… yes in the coming general election. Let’s start right from here…let’s think something for us and act together, let’s decide some ‘strategy of the common’ to eradicate the ‘tragedy of the common’….at least slowly, but surely….I invite everybody coming across this web space to have your say… my dear friends, we need just a start, and the wheels will keep rolling!
